Glass battleaxe
I really enjoyed making the glass sword so I decided my next sword would not be a sword but an axe, a Glass axe. This one was a little trickier because I had to make it in 2 sections and stick them together seeing as the foam board is about 70cm long (the axe is about a meter)

Building up the layers
For this layer I needed it to be half a board thick so i scraped away the bottom half of the pieces after I had cut them

Carving the blades edge, almost finished the axe head
Then I started to work on the handle, which was also made of foam and felt quite weak so I painted it right after I glued it together to strengthen it a little
Adding the detail/texture grip to the handle
Lots of little pieces being glued on

More gem-like details at the top of the handle

To get the 2 parts together I wedged about 10 long toothpicks into the handle about halfway then pressed them into the top half, The complete shape was quite strong

I added a bit of glue to help strengthen it
Cut the grooves into the blade (same style as the sword) then started with the primer paint

I realized I missed a little layer on the top part which I added in before the color paint
